THE GUNSTOCK CLASSIC TELEMARK RACE

Headquarters will be in the main lodge.

No special ticket will be needed for this event but the race registration will be $10. You should come on up to headquarters to sign in for clinics, sign up for the race and to buy raffle tickets.

• Demos- Most of the telemark companies will be represented and you will have a chance to demo the newest gear for free! If you are new to telemark and don't own any gear you might want to rent some gear for the day. The demo reps like to give everyone a chance to try their gear and generally don't want you taking the skis and boots out for more than a few runs.

• Sponsors - At the heart of every great organization there must be a dedicated group of people. Along with our instructors and volunteers are our sponsors. Where would we be without them? They help us out financially but more than that, many of them are right there at the festivals with us, giving the public a chance to try out all the newest and best telemark gear. To them we have dedicated a 'sponsor page' with descriptions of their products and links to their web pages. • Lessons - Most of our instructors are members of PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) and all are highly trained and motivated. We want our clinics to be fun most of all but to hopefully give you a chance to improve your skiing in an enjoyable, free spirited atmosphere. All clinics are 1 1/2 hours long and are free. Times will be once in the morning and once in the afternoon. The morning clinics begin at 10:30 and the afternoon clinics 1:30.

• Event- The Classic Telemark Race. This is the third year of the "Sprint Classic Race" at Gunstock. This year the race has been sanctioned By the United States Telemark Ski Association as a National points race. Members of USTSA will be able to qualify for points in a National ranking. USTSA sign up will be available at registration. Other races in this series will be at Bromley on 24Feb2008 and World Cup Telemark Racing at Sugarbush in mid March. Registration for the race will open at 8:00 a.m. Course inspection and prejump mandatory. The race will have two classes, Expert and Citizen, USTSA members should race under the Expert class. Young racers encouraged to participate. Prize for youngest racer!

The Gunstock "Sprint Classic Race" will be scored, as lowest score after two runs combined, after penalties added. Penalties for improper telemark turns and jump distance and landing will be scored and added to raw time.

• Prizes/Raffles -Lot's of cool stuff!

• Tickets -Same price as regular Gunstock weekend ticket. There will be a $10 fee for the race.
