Although we here at New England Telemark spend a good deal of our time getting ready for our festivals we are also a PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) accredited ski school. We have over 30 telemark instructors. Most are PSIA certified including four PSIA telemark examiners.

Festival clinics and private lessons

This coming season we will be offering private and group lessons in various venues around New England. Free group lessons are always available at any of our telemark festivals. No reservation is required. The lessons are 1 1/2 hour long and are for all abilities. Private lessons are available at the festivals as well.

We also offer 1 hour, half day and all day private lessons at the festivals.

Private 1/2 day or all day lessons are available by appointment. Our instructors live throughout New England so we can probably give a lesson at a ski area near you. Call, e-mail "lessons (at) netelemark.com" or use our registration form (write in "private lesson") to reserve a lesson.

Kid's gear and kid's lessons are available at all of our telemark festivals!

Prices

Reserved private lessons are available for 1/2 day and full day only. Prices do not include rentals or lift ticket. Please schedule at least 5 days in advance. Call (207)725-7734 in Maine and (603)356-8177 in New Hampshire or e-mail

Private lessons

Private half day clinic- $150
Private full day clinic- $275

Private 1 hour lesson (available at festivals only)- $50

Semiprivate (2 persons) half day clinic- $90 per person
Semiprivate full day clinic- $160 per person

Powder lessons

So it's a powder day... all your friends have told you how telemark skiing and powder snow are like milk and honey, peanut butter and jelly, Fred Aster and Ginger Rogers. You are usually a pretty good skier. Only problem is... you get in the fluffy stuff and fall flat on your face. You want a lesson in powder snow but everytime you have an opportunity to take a lesson it's a bluebird day. What to do?

Put us on call. Let us know in advance that you are looking for a lesson in at least 6-8 inches of fresh and when it looks like a storm is on the way we touch base and make it happen. Half and full day private and semi-private lessons available. Same prices as above. Advanced-intermediate and advanced skiers only.

Group Clinics

Got a group that wants a lesson? Schedule a special group lesson with us where and when you want it.

We will be putting together half day group clinics for beginners and intermediates to go out at the Mt. Abram Tele Daze on February 21.

$75 per person (does not include lift ticket). Classes decided one week before and a minimum of 2 persons per class. Maximum number per class, 6.

Special School Group Clinics

New England Telemark offers special group rates for schools. Half or full day clinics at your local ski area. These clinics include gear! Please call or e-mail for prices.

Rentals

Rentals will not be available from NET at the festivals. If you are new to the sport and need equipment for the entire day at a festival we recommend renting from a local telemark shop or at the ski area (if available). Demo gear is free but can only be used for a few runs at a time.

The Intersession Program at FHS focuses on hands-on educational experiences that stimulate a student's passion to learn, and New England Telemark absolutely accomplished that and more. In the capable hands of 3 instructors from New England Telemark, 13 kids and 2 chaperones from FHS, who had never been on telemark gear before, were treated to 2 days of educational theory and practice that were stimulating, motivating, and challenging, and fun. First run of the morning at BW (the Bretton woods Telemark Festival), my son carried his skis down half the mountain crying the whole way, but after an hour and a half with (NET instructor) Grant, he had a blast the rest of the day, especially in the conga line and glade run at end of day. Not consistently executing tele turns the whole time, but much more comfortable. He does not want to go back to alpine
